Flourish Labs is on a mission to make mental health support accessible to all by empowering people to support each other. We expand the mental health workforce by training young adults (18-35) with experience of mental health challenges to become certified Peer Support Specialists for teenagers and young adults.
Our training is purpose-built for online learning and developed in collaboration with experienced peers, young adults, and learning design experts at a leading online university. It is facilitated by peers who use their lived experience to deliver support, run programs, and develop curriculum standards. Through a combination of self-paced modules, live webinars and peer-to-peer practice, our participants acquire both the knowledge and the skills to be an effective peer supporter.
We are committed to training and hiring individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, identities and experiences, and enabling them to flourish by ensuring everyone has an opportunity to succeed.

Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training Schedule

Training Method: Asynchronous, with some synchronous virtual sessions

Training Modality:  Cohort Style

Training Location(s):  Online

Training Length: 8 week, 82 hour course

Training Hours: Self-paced modules with online assessments and feedback from our trainers, 10
synchronous classes (90 min each), 5 hours of peer-to-peer practice

Registration Capacity: Up to 60 students per cohort
