Agency Biography

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, RAMS provides and advocates for mental health and wellness services that are centered in clients, community and culture, with expertise in serving Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. Since 1974, the agency has supported those who have the least resources and opportunities to achieve their highest potential. RAMS does this by providing integrated services that include counseling, job training, capacity building for partner organizations and advanced training of mental health professionals.

For 10+ years, the RAMS has supported students in enriching their peer counseling skills through our Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certificate course, focusing on entry-level peer provider roles through experiential training that touch on all core competencies for peer-based work. The course uses a combination of didactic, role playing, small group discussion, and shadowing, among other training methods, to support learners in engaged skill building.

Note: At RAMS, a stipend may provided to cover the costs of state certification, assisting individuals in obtaining the necessary credentials.
