Agency Biography

LSSSC’s mission is to live out God’s love by embracing, equipping, and empowering vulnerable individuals, families, and communities toward self-sufficiency. We offer integrative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. Agency-wide programs include Emergency Assistance; Housing Services; Care Coordination; Community Education and Support; Health, Wellness and Recovery; Senior Services; Services for Individuals with Disabilities; Educational Services, and Workforce Development. In all our services, we are committed to train and support peer support specialists in helping break down barriers to care and empower people to find and follow their own recovery paths. Peers with lived experience provide advocacy, encouragement, acceptance, resources, and hope to those navigating the public mental health (PMHS) and recovery systems of care, along with direct support to unhoused populations. Our parent partners in our health, wellness, and recovery programs helped develop and enhance this specialization training given their experiences and expertise in supporting parents, caregivers, and family member peers.
