Agency Biography

The Los Angeles County Partner Training Academy (PPTA) has worked to define the role of Parent Partners, establish the competencies necessary for training Parent Partners, and shift the culture surrounding the integration of Parent Partner into treatment teams throughout LA County since 2014.

The Los Angeles PPTA strives to support a working culture where Parent Partners are supported by training, knowledgeable supervisors & administrators, and informed policies, that promote the delivery of excellent impactful services to families.

The PPTA training consist of several components initially developed through a countywide process of focus groups with Parent Partners throughout Los Angeles County and in collaboration with a certified Federation of Families consultant. The PPTA Essential Skills training encompasses the 5 competencies identified by the Federation of Families and the needs of our Parent Partners throughout Los Angeles County.

Our PPTA Essential Skills trainings are available in both virtual (12 attendees per cohort) and in-person (15 attendees per cohort) formats. Both trainings are 72 hours in duration and we offer both half-day and full-day training options. Our trainings are scheduled based on the needs of our Parent Partners approximately 1-2 times each quarter.

In-Person trainings are currently being offered in Lancaster, CA.
