We’re pleased to introduce the Documentation Best Practices Guide for Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists. Developed by CalMHSA with funding from the Department of Health Care Services, this resource supports peer specialists in understanding and fulfilling their legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities when documenting services in county behavioral health delivery systems, including both mental health and substance use disorder services. By promoting accuracy, integrity, and accountability in documentation, the guide highlights the vital role of peers in advancing recovery, access, and equity across behavioral health services.
