Agency Biography

The CAPS Academy is a statewide joint venture between two peer-run California organizations: Project Return Peer Support Network (PRPSN) and Mental Health America of California (MHAC). Together, they bring extensive experience in peer support, recovery, and workforce development.
CAPS Academy provides Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Training as a CalMHSA-approved vendor under the umbrella of PRPSN. This partnership combines strong administrative capacity, statewide reach, and deep community expertise with recovery-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive training.
Uniquely positioned to serve counties, providers, and peers, CAPS Academy delivers high-quality training that strengthens the peer workforce and advances equitable, recovery-oriented systems of care across California.
