Agency Biography

Founded in 2018 by a team of experienced emergency clinicians, CA Bridge has led the largest
and fastest expansion of ED-based medication for addiction treatment (MAT) in the country. We
strive to make high-quality, low-barrier treatment for substance use disorder available through all
California hospitals — whenever and wherever patients need it.
CA Bridge is a leader in substance use education. We offer an extensive training program
focused on substance use navigation, co-occurring disorders, and harm reduction. We have
trained and integrated over 270 navigators into healthcare settings across California, and we
host a digital network with over 500 navigators and community partners statewide who regularly
share resources and offer support.
CA Bridge is a program of the Public Health Institute’s Bridge Center. Bridge is building on our
country’s guarantee of 24/7 emergency care to offer treatment where people are, promote
equity, and connect patients to ongoing care.
