Agency Biography
RUHS-BH operates a peer-run program with an exemplary history of training peers to provide direct services, while also integrating peers on treatment teams at all levels of care. As a model program in California for many years, RUHS-BH has developed career ladders for peers that allow individuals to grow in this career, and has led to the fine-tuning of these training programs. The Building Peer Leaders training series offers family and caregiver-focused trainings that tie back to all aspects of the core competencies that are covered in the Building Peer Leaders: A Medi-Cal Peer Support Certification Training. The Building Peer Leaders: Supporting Parents and Families of Children prepares Parent Partner Peers to support parents and caregivers of minors engaged in behavioral health services. The Building Peer Leaders: Supporting Family Members and Caregivers to Their Adult Loved One prepares family members and caregivers engaged in behavioral health services. Both courses are facilitated by Parent Partner and Family Advocate Peers who have years of experience. The RUHS-BH Peer Support Services Training Program provides a learning environment that caters to various learning styles and celebrates diversity in the training process. RUHS-BH welcomes all peer providers, inclusive of all specialties and areas of family and caregiver lived experiences.
