Agency Biography

Cal Voices is dedicated to improving the lives of California residents through advocacy, education, research, and culturally relevant services. For over 75 years, Cal Voices has worked with individuals and families to promote wellness and recovery, prevention, and improved access to services and support.

Cal Voices understands the constraints and issues peers and their employers face. Over 95% of our staff identify as consumers and/or family members, including the entire Executive Leadership team and all program managers. Cal Voices strives to put the Mental Health Services Act’s vision and values into practice by promoting and advancing peer employment.

Cal Voices now offers Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training through its’ WISE U Program which has supported, trained, and provided technical assistance to agencies employing peers and peer providers themselves since 2014. All Cal Voices’ training curriculums and materials have been developed through years of data collection, analysis and research.

Training Method: Hybrid

Training Modality: Hybrid (live and pre-recorded), and Online (self-directed)

Training Length: 80 hours

Training Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
