Agency Biography
Cal Voices, the oldest consumer advocacy agency in California, is dedicated to improving the lives of residents in the diverse communities of California through advocacy, education, research, and culturally relevant services. We promote wellness and recovery, prevention, and improved access to care. Cal Voices provides behavioral health consumers with culturally-affirming peer support, system navigation, training, and advocacy for consumer-oriented behavioral health policies. Since 2015, we have trained and coached thousands of Peers in the Public Behavioral Health System.
Cal Voices offers Continuing Education courses for Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists through multiple modalities including in-person, online, and asynchronous. Training length depends on the topic and ranges from one to seven hours per training. Training frequency and start dates vary based on demand and take place Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants per training.
