Agency Biography
SHARE!, a peer-run agency providing effective peer services since 1993, has trained more than 850 California peers in evidence-based practices. SHARE!’s training approach is drawn from its experience operating two peer-run Wellness Centers, a peer respite, a self-help support group referral service and SHARE! Collaborative Housing, in which people with behavioral health issues support each other in family living.
SHARE! empowers people to change their own lives and provides them a loving, safe, non-judgmental place where they can find community, information and support.
All of SHARE!’s staff are in recovery from mental health/substance use concerns. Many have also experienced homelessness, justice-involvement and/or trauma. Many staff also are parents, family members and caregivers of people with mental health/substance use concerns.
