Agency Biography

East Los Angeles College empowers students to achieve their educational goals, to expand their individual potential, and to successfully pursue their aspirations for a better future for themselves, their community and the world.
The Peer Support Specialist Training Program will be administered by the Department of Psychology and Addiction Studies and will allow students to earn a job ready certificate in a field where they can make an impact on their community. The training program is 80 hours total, and the classes are all held in person, with online assignments. The program is cohort based, with a maximum of 20 students per cohort. Students will be attending three days a week for six weeks, with job placement services embedded into the curriculum.
