The comprehensive 80-hour Peer Support Specialist Training offered by LMU Extension combines the University’s strong academic reputation and its extensive experience providing professional instruction in the areas of mental and behavioral health to those with lived experience, with two specialties: the military veteran community, and youth. The Peer Support course is designed to provide applied knowledge. This course covers a variety of relevant topics utilizing various teaching and instructional modalities presented in lecture form accompanied by various handouts, recommended book/reading for review, problem solving activities, skill exercises, small group exercises, and open guided discussion.
