Agency Bio: Alameda County Mental Health Network of Clients (ACNMHC) provides leadership development, empowerment, job training, and support for people with mental health and/or substance use recovery experience who are interested in joining the behavioral health field as Peer Support Specialists (PSS).
BestNow! (Building Employment Strategies Through Networking on Wellness) is a program of ACNMHC, which was created in 1988 and was the first Peer-run organization of its kind in Alameda County, and since has been a leader in Peer support services. BestNow! has offered training and employment support for more than 20 years.
We stand proudly by the slogan, “We are who we serve.” ACNMHC stays true to this motto by continuing to value lived experience just as much
as academic and/or work experience. Today, all our programs are staffed by experienced Peers, who share similar lived experiences with the participants they work with.
